An overland truck is only as good as the least reliable thing on it. Ryan's Hilux Vigo was built as one complete touring rig, suspension, protection, storage and sleeping sorted together as a system, so it works as a vehicle you actually live out of rather than a show truck with accessories bolted on.
The objective
A Hilux that carries everything for a trip, sleeps two up off the ground, and drives home the same as it drove out. Comfortable on the road, capable off it, and reliable enough to trust a long way from the workshop.
Suspension and stance
The build started underneath. Touring kit is dead weight if the springs cannot carry the load, so the truck went onto Dobinsons suspension sized for the weight it actually carries, sitting on mud terrains with the clearance to match.
Living out of it
On top of that went the touring hardware: bull bar and driving lights up front, a canopy and roof rack over the tub, a roof-top tent for two, and a snorkel for the water and dust. Everything mounted properly so it can be loaded, slept in and driven hard without shaking loose.

Out being used the way it was built to be: a Hilux that heads for the trees loaded for a weekend and comes back without a story to tell, which on an overland truck is exactly the point.
