The 60 Series is a heavy, honest old Land Cruiser, and the only way to make one good is to start underneath. Keith's HJ60 was taken back to the chassis and rebuilt from the ground up: driveline, brakes, suspension and running gear all gone through, so the parts you never see are the parts that make it drive.
The objective
A 60 that stops, rides and drives like it should, sorted from the axles up rather than tidied from the paint down. Get the mechanical foundation right first and everything above it becomes easy.
Underneath first
The chassis and running gear were the whole job. The front end went to a disc-brake conversion so it actually stops, the suspension was rebuilt on Old Man Emu, and the axles, diffs and transfer case were gone through and refinished. The underside was cleaned, painted and detailed to the same standard as anything on top.
Driveline and detail
The 2H diesel and engine bay were sorted and tidied, and the interior brought back with the instruments and controls made to work properly again. The result is a 60 that feels rebuilt to drive, not just cleaned up to look at.

Back with its owner as a proper 60 again: one that stops, steers and rides like the work underneath deserves. Exactly the kind of unglamorous, done-right rebuild the platform needs and rarely gets.
