A 4x4 is only as good as the chassis under it. On a vehicle that is decades old and has spent its life in a wet climate, the chassis is usually where the real story is, and where every shortcut eventually hides.
What we actually do
Chassis work here is not a coat of paint over old metal. It is an honest assessment first, then proper repair.
- Full corrosion assessment, including the areas rust likes to hide
- Structural repair and section replacement where the metal is gone
- Rust treatment done to the base metal, not sprayed over the top
- Sealing and protection so the work actually lasts
Why honest assessment matters
The worst chassis problems are the ones a quick look misses: rot inside box sections, under brackets, behind previous repairs. We would rather find them now and tell you than have them turn up two years after you paid for a restoration.
A chassis is not cosmetic
Body and paint get the attention because they show. The chassis is what keeps the vehicle safe, straight and together. Get it right and everything bolted to it has a foundation worth building on. Get it wrong and the prettiest restoration in the world is sitting on a problem.
